With the exception of the Profiler, is there another way
to monitor the transaction taking place on the server? I
want to be able to see what users are doing like which
commands they executed and if it fails or not.

there are several third-party tools to do this sort of thing eg LogExplorer
could be useful - either looking at historical logs or real-time:
